Diploma of Work Health and Safety Training

Be Trained by Barringtons Diploma of Work Health and Safety is designed to educate and assist individuals who coordinate and maintain the Work Health and Safety program in an organisation. It reflects the role of practitioners who apply a substantial knowledge base and well-developed skills in a wide variety of WHS contexts.

The course itself is made up of 10 units – five of which are core units and five of which are elective. The units are as follows:

Core units:

BSBWHS513 – Lead WHS risk management
BSBWHS515 – Lead initial response to and investigate WHS incidents
BSBWHS516 – Contribute to developing, implementing and maintaining an organisation’s WHS management system
BSBWHS519 – Lead the development and use of WHS risk management tools
BSBWHS522 – manage WHS consultation and participation processes

Elective Units:

BSBWHS517 – Contribute to managing a WHS information system
BSBWHS518 – Manage WHS hazards associated with maintenance and use of plant
BSBWHS520 – Manage implementation of emergency procedures
BSBSTR502 – Facilitate continuous improvement
BSBSUS511 – Develop workplace policies and procedures for sustainability

Students must have completed BSB41419 Certificate IV in Work health and Safety Core units or equivalent competencies. The training runs for a duration of 12 months for participants that are already working full time. However, it can be completed at different durations based on personal obligations and pre-existing skill sets.

Delivery

The training itself can be delivered in a combination of ways. Online options are available as well as in-person sessions. Having the option of blended delivery ensures the training works around your schedule.

Upon completion of the course, participants will receive a BSB51319 Diploma of Work Health and Safety or a Statement of Attainment for competencies completed.
